Description
The TPS7A4001 device is a very high voltagetolerant linear regulator that offers the benefits of athermally-enhanced package (HVSSOP), and is ableto withstand continuous DC or transient inputvoltages of up to 100 V.The TPS7A4001 device is stable with any outputcapacitance greater than 4.7 uF and any inputcapacitance greater than i uF (over temperature andtolerance). Therefore, implementations of this devicerequire minimal board space because of itsminiaturized packaging (HVSSOP) and a potentiallysmall output capacitor. In addition, the TPS7A4001device offers an enable pin (EN) compatible withstandard CMOSlogic to enable a low-currentshutdown mode.
The TPS7A4001 device has an internal thermalshutdown and current limiting to protect the systemduring fault conditions. The HVSSOP packages hasan operating temperature range of T,= -40C to125°C
In addition, the TPS7A4001 device is ideal forgenerating a low-voltage supply from intermediatevoltage rails in telecom and industrial applicationsnot only can it supply a well-regulated voltage rail, butit can also withstand and maintain regulation durinovery high and fast voltage transients. These featurestranslate to simpler and more cost-effective electricasurge-protection circuitry for a wide range otapplications, including PoE,bias supply, and LEDlighting.
